The Veterinary Paraprofessional Association of Zambia on 30th November 2023 held a conference targeting all VPPs in the nation. The theme of the conference was; “Para-veterinarians: The Foot Soldiers in Animal Health and Production”.
Following the formation of the Veterinary Paraprofessional Association, the leadership aimed at sensitizing VPPs as well as stakeholders on the noble tasks executed by VPPs in promoting the health of the Zambian Animal resource, improving the country’s GDP as well as promoting public health.
In most scenarios, the primary responder to an animal health case is usually a veterinary paraprofessional. This makes them key partners in the eradication of disease and the promotion of One Health.
It is AVTA’s aspiration to see the professional body thrive and able to fulfil its mandate to the members and the nation of Zambia.
