Animal Health Technicians also known as Veterinary paraprofessionals (VPP) provide first line animal health service in South Africa. However, regulation on the specific tasks and roles to be executed by the VPPs is still a subject invoking discussion among various stakeholders.
AVTA as well as South Africa’s National VPP associations were among the stakeholders invited in the workshop.
